Lisa A. Krajicek's Obituary
Lisa A. Krajicek was born November 6, 1943 in Gothenburg, Sweden and passed peacefully on January 23, 2026, in Houston, Texas surrounded by her family and friends.
Lisa was the oldest of three and raised her brothers as her own. She was crowned Santa Lucia of Sweden - a great honor and privilege. She moved to New York in her early twenties to pursue a modeling career. From New York, she moved to Texas, where she called home and where she raised her family. Lisa was deeply proud of earning her citizenship to the United States and embraced this chapter of her life with gratitude and purpose. Her patriotism was exemplified through volunteering at polling stations during presidential elections, believing strongly in civic participation and community service responsibility, including La Dames of Aspen, Co.
Lisa is remembered for her warmth, her extraordinary cooking and entertaining, and her gift for bringing people together - even at the last minute. With her husband, Richard, they spent their time copiloting their plane between their residences in Houston, The Bahamas and Aspen, Co.
Lisa never met a stranger and always had a smile, a compliment and chocolate to share. All revered “Mormor” as extremely devoted to her Grandchildren, and loved watching them play sports and perform in school plays. Family was her driving purpose and included her fur babies. Traveling on both vacations and daily excursions, Lisa carried her beloved “Indy” in tow like she was her child. There was a running joke amongst our family, that Indy was her favorite daughter. Lisa’s love and devotion to animals extended to many pets she spoiled and brought home into our families. Lisa’s friendships spanned continents and cultures. Her legacy lives on in the beauty she created, the adventures she embraced, the meals she shared, the gardens she tended, the celebrations she planned, and the “light” she brought into every room. She will be deeply missed and will live on in stories and memories told for generations.
Lisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard W. Krajicek; and her parents, Iris and Erland Sjöstedt; and Richard’s children, Kimberly, Richelle, and Michael Krajicek.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeanette and her husband, Paul Pettit; Vanessa and her husband, John Ellis; Sarah and her husband, Christopher Langley; and Richard’s son, Stephen and his wife Lisa Krajicek; as well as her grandchildren, Alexandra and Nicholas Pettit, Carolina and Collier Ellis, Natalie, Erin, David, and Dylan Langley, Tiffany Yelverton, Ryan Coppels, Will and Blake, Gabriel and Michael Krajicek and Kimberly Turk including 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Kjell Sjöstedt and his wife, Kerstin and Dan Sjöstedt and his wife, Ann.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2026 at St Theresa Catholic Church 6622 Haskell St., Houston, Texas 77007.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Collier Ellis, John Ellis, Robert Frost, Christopher Langley, Nicholas Pettit and Paul Pettit.
