Tonatiuh Butron, born on September 25, 1968 as a twin, to Pedro Antonio and Laura Butron, died on December 25, 2025 in Houston, Texas. Tonatiuh, lovingly known as “Tona” or simply “T,” was a gentle and kind-hearted man. He faced a difficult beginning in life, having been diagnosed with his first brain tumor at just seven years old, followed by surgery and a challenging recovery. He endured this journey several times throughout his life, yet through it all, he never lost his warm spirit and amusing personality. Tona was a simple man who found joy in life’s familiar comforts like his Wendy’s meals, Dr. Pepper, and 80’s music. Tona will be greatly missed by all those who knew him, loved him, and shared in the quiet joy he brought to their lives.
A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2026 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, 1912 Center St., Houston, TX 77007.
