Susan Sacra McConn's Obituary
Susan “Susie” Sacra McConn, Born on December 26,1961 at Hermann Hospital, Houston,TX. Susie passed away to be with our Lord on May 19, 2026. Over the last two years she put up a long and hard fought battle with cancer. She was a wonderful Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend to so many people, she will be dearly missed.
Susie attended Corpus Christi Catholic School during her elementary education and went on to graduate from high school at St Agnes Academy. Following St. Agnes, Susie enrolled at Texas A+M University and eventually returned to Houston and finished her BA degree at St. Thomas University in Houston. Susie took her education degree and became an elementary school teacher at Westwood Elementary in the Spring Branch School District. She loved working with early stage students and students with learning disabilities.
In April of 1988 she married her loving husband of 38 years, Mark D. McConn, Sr. Her pride and joy were her 3 wonderful children. In April of 1992 she gave birth to the 1st of 3 children, Mark” Daniel”. McConn Jr, not long after she gave birth to Margaret Janet and Matthew Joseph McConn, Motherhood was now a full time job and a job she wanted. She ended her teaching career to focus on her children and what a Mom she was! She was actively involved in the kids' lives and schools while they were growing up, Cub Scouts leader, Girl Scouts leader. Baseball, football, soccer, softball, and art classes. When called upon she was always there to help with school functions, auctions, fundraisers, along with working in the Junior League kitchen. Susie was friends to all those who knew her!
She grew up the only daughter in a 3 son all sports family. Her brother Ralph and Father Joe both played football at Texas A&M, at a young age Susie watched her brother play in home games which turned her into the Aggies biggest fan. Her favorite thing in life was watching our children play their sports. Daniel and Matt’s baseball and Megs softball games and following the MLB, NFL, teams, and especially her beloved Aggies and Astros!
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Janet Sacra. She is survived by her husband, Mark, her children, Daniel, Margaret, Matthew and Brothers, Ralph Sacra, Jerry Sacra, Mark and Melissa Sacra, numerous nieces and nephews.
Susie will be honored at a memorial mass at St. John Vianney Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 17th at 10:30 in the morning with Father Clark Sample officiating.
