Reynaldo DeLaRosa's Obituary
Reynaldo (Ray) DeLaRosa passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at the age of 75.
Ray was a proud Houston native whose life was rooted in family, faith, and community. Born on October 30, 1950, he spent his early years in Cottage Grove and Heights, where he formed the values and strong connections that would guide him throughout his life. After graduating from Reagan High School, he honorably served his country in the United States Army and was stationed in Vietnam.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Romaldo and Catalina; his father-in-law, Frank X. Morales; his infant daughter, Rachel Elaine; and his grandson, Mateo Rey. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Ann; his sons, Matthew (Martha) and Jonathan (Destini); his grandchildren, Tristan, Astrid, and Damien Ray; his mother-in-law, Pat Morales; his sisters, Celia Perez (David), Celeste Morales, and Michelle Gibbs (Billy); his brother, Albert Morales; and many other family members and dear friends.
Ray deeply loved his family and was devoted to them in every stage of life. He rarely said no to his wife, and when his sons were young, he was present for every open house, sporting event, and scouting activity. He was especially proud to attend the Veterans Day program at Tristan’s and Astrid’s school, and he cherished his final day trip to Dewberry Farm with Damien.
Pallbearers: Matthew DeLaRosa, Jonathan DeLaRosa, Alex Martinez, Erik Hernandez, Roland Chavez and David Perez. Honorary Pallbearers: Albert Morales, William Gibbs, Gilbert Herrera, Noe Garza and Ralph Jones
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the DaVita Staff, Dr Memon, Cecilia, Sidney, Jenna and Paula and to his therapists Lisa and Irenia.
