Michael Wayne Johnson's Obituary
Michael Wayne Johnson, 61, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 17, 2025, in Houston, Texas. He was born on November 4, 1963, in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Michael proudly served his country in the 82nd Airborne of the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He went on to build a long and successful career in the logistics industry. Known for his sharp wit, kind heart, and unwavering love for his family, Michael touched the lives of many.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Johnson; his father, Richard Johnson; and stepfather, Robert Johnson. Grandparents, Edward Joseph Leach; spouse Louise Marie Brightman.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Louise Johnson, and his former wife, Marianne Silva. He is also survived by his children: Nicholas Johnson, Alexander Lawrence, Keagan Lawrence, Casey Lawrence, Emily Johnson Lucas and her husband Jacob Lucas, and Nikki Lawrence. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: A.J. Lawrence, Luke Johnson, Sophia Lucas, and Aria Lawrence.
He is also survived by his brothers: Richard Johnson, Donald Johnson, and Joseph Johnson.
Michael found joy in spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. Whether he was playing a round of golf, shooting pool, or enjoying a glass of Captain Morgan, he lived life with humor and heart. Michael was also a beloved coach, whose influence continued to be felt long after he stepped off the sidelines. Michael was also a huge football fan, loved fantasy football and was die hard New England Sports Fan through and through.
A private memorial service with family will be held on Wednesday, August 27, 2025. A visitation will be open to friends and extended family on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Joseph J. Earthman Generations Funeral Home from 5pm to 7pm. There will also be a celebration of life at Nikki's Irish Pub on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to your local youth sports organization or school athletic booster club—causes Michael cared about deeply.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
