It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of María Elena López Rayón, who left this world peacefully on April 7, 2025, just days before her 73rd birthday. Born in Mexico City on April 15, 1952, to Consuelo and Josafat Rayón, Elena lived a life marked by deep faith, immense love, and unwavering grace.
Elena was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She touched every life she encountered with her kindness, warmth, and quiet strength. Her beautiful soul was matched only by her generous spirit—always thoughtful and caring. A devout Catholic and a woman of deep conviction, Elena lived her life in service to God and her family. She was a pillar of love and stability in her home and community. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and love will live on in the many lives she touched.
Elena was preceded in death by her beloved son, Gustavo López Rayón, and by her cherished parents, Consuelo and Josafat Rayón. She is survived by her loving husband, David López Ramírez, and her children: Juan Andrés López Rayón, David Carlos López Rayón, and Gabriela López Rayón, along with her son-in-law, Martin Polombo. Her memory will also be cherished by her beloved grandchildren—Sofía, Samuel, and Joseph Polombo; Kameryn, Rebekka, Abigail, and Lewis López—and by her great-grandchildren, Elias Williams and Emir Thornton.
