Leslie Alma Rose Johnson's Obituary
Leslie Alma Rose Johnson of The Woodlands, Texas passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on June 23, 2025 after a well fought battle with liver and lung disease. She was born and raised in Cornwall, New York. Leslie graduated with many lifelong friends from Cornwall Central High School in 1977. She moved to Houston, Texas and worked in banking for several years before returning home to Cornwall.
While working as an on-site office manager for Combustion Engineering in Solvay, New York, Leslie met her future husband Jeffrey Hillis Johnson. They were married on December 28th, 1991 near Cornwall. The newly wedded couple moved to east Texas where they raised their three beloved daughters Katelyn Rose, Megan Alissa, and Julia Beth.
The family moved to The Woodlands in 1998 where Leslie sought community. She attended Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Parish, volunteered with senior citizens through Interfaith, formed strong bonds with her neighbors, participated in and lead local Girl Scout troops, was a dear member of a monthly BUNCO group, and rescued and fostered many pets. Taking her daughters home to Cornwall each summer, she nurtured their deep connection to her family and hometown.
Leslie was preceded in death by her mother, Kay Ann Rose. She will be missed dearly by her husband and daughters; father, David Peter Rose; siblings David, Valerie, Regina, Renee, and Todd, their spouses; and her many wonderful nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on July 8, 2025 at 10 o’clock in the morning at Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church, 26777 Glen Loch Drive in The Woodlands, Texas. The family is preparing a memorial in her hometown, details to be decided. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests for donations to be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society), or the charity of your choice.
