Jimmie B. Kainer's Obituary
Jimmie B. Kainer, aka Jimbo and Red Machine, born July 6, 1945 in Goose Creek, Texas to Ben and Martha Novosad Kainer passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025 at the age of 80 in Houston, Texas.
Jimmie was preceded in death by both of his parents; brothers-in-law, James W. Taylor and Billy Ray Henderson; nephew, Eric S. Henderson, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He is survived by his older sister, Betty Kainer Taylor and younger sister, Doris Kainer Henderson; nieces, Joyce Taylor Basford and her husband, Brett, Cheryl Taylor Free and her husband, Daryl, Kelley Henderson; nephew, Russell Henderson and partner, Debbie Styx; great-nephews, Jace Basford and Nolan Free; great-nieces Brenna Basford and Fiona Free; Aunt Wanda Kainer and Uncle Clarence Behrens, brother Knights, lifelong friends and neighbors, especially Linda and Louis Villareal.
Jimmie was a devout Catholic who went to St. Rose of Lima Grammar School, St. Pius X High School Class of 1963, and was an active member of the St. Rose of Lima community.
Jimmie served in the United States Army form 1965-1967. He worked for Marek Brothers, Weber Drilling Co., and National Flange. He also enjoyed the simple joys of bowling with KC members, gambling and watching “old” TV shows such as Andy Griffith, The Rifleman, Gunsmoke, and Wheel of Fortune.
He was a Brother Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Council 2917 for 58 years.

His favorite saying was, “Nothing could be finer than to be a Kainer, drinking a Shiner, in a recliner.”
A visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. with a Holy Rosary at 10:00 a.m., followed by A Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 with a reception to immediately follow the Mass. All services will take place at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 3600 Brinkman in Houston, Texas.
The Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale cemetery in Houston, Texas.
