Janette Cecilia Divin Polasek's Obituary
Janette Cecilia (Divin) Polasek, 84, of Houston, Texas passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025 with her grandchildren by her side. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Wallis, Texas to John and Mary (Macha) Divin.
Janette moved from Wallis as a young child and spent her life in Houston, a city she loved and was very proud to call home. After graduating from Incarnate Word Academy, she married her husband, ‘Billy Joe’ and had one beloved daughter, Lisa Anne. She worked both as a homemaker and outside of the home, most notably spending many years of her career as a bookkeeper. A devout Catholic, Janette was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Catholic Church and her faith was a constant source of strength and comfort. She had a deep love for her family and found great joy in spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called her “Dabba”. She loved baseball, especially her Houston Astros, and was also very proud of her Czech heritage, never passing up the opportunity to stop for homemade kolaches on Texas road trips.
Janette is now reunited in eternal peace with her daughter, Lisa Anne Yeager, who she recently lost and dearly missed. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Polasek; parents, John and Mary (Macha) Divin; siblings, Johnnie Divin, Charlie Divin, Jerry Divin, Mary Jane LaFlamme and Rosalie Kubacak.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer White and husband, Doug; grandson, Justin Yeager and wife, Kendall; great-grandchildren Jordan Anne White, Farris Yeager, William White, Maven Yeager, Vale Yeager; and son-in-law, Jimmy Yeager.
