Diane Frank lit a candleI’ve known George since freshman year in high school and we’ve been friends ever since. George would always be there for anyone, drop what he was doing, and be there with a smile on his face. He’s always happy, thereby making others happy. I remember parties (or small gatherings, Mr and Mrs Ryan) in George’s basement in high school. College, too. The Outfield ALWAYS reminds me of him…any song. So does a particular REM song where he knew all the words and always sang it. All the boys at George’s house singing (quite loudly) Solsbury Hill by Peter Gabriel. As I recall, they’d all gather together, put their arms around each other’s necks, standing side by side, and sing it at the top of their voices. I always wanted to join in because I loved that song, too, but it was the “Boys” thing. Flaming shots of Sambuca. Spring Break. His annual Halloween Parties in Winfield. Texting during MSU playoff games, most recently this past March Madness when UCLA knocked MSU out of the tournament. And always being a great, thoughtful friend that you could always count on no matter what!! Karyn and his (their) two beautiful sons made him so happy!! I can’t quite comprehend this. George will be dearly, dearly missed. My heart and my prayers go out to Mr and Mrs Ryan, Pat, Karyn, Payton, Colton, Karyn’s parents, his niece and nephews…and even Bristol and Waylon! He always loved his doggies. May God Bless All of You…and George (and Kathy) in Heaven. Love Always, Dee
