Eric Steven Feighl's Obituary
Eric Steven Feighl, age 53, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2025, at Memorial Hermann hospital in Houston, Texas.
Eric was born on March 1, 1972, in Houston to Bob and Sharyn Feighl. A lifelong resident of Houston, Eric graduated from St. Thomas High School in 1990 and went on to attend the University of Mississippi where he graduated in 1994 with a degree in Political Science, and a minor in business. Eric spent decades working in the fields of finance and insurance, and enjoyed forging business relationships, as well as personal friendships with colleagues.
Eric was an avid hunter and fisherman and especially loved spending time with his three children at their athletic, dance and school events. Attending Houston Astros games and the Houston Rodeo were some of his lifelong interests. He was a devoted and active alumnus of St. Thomas High School and supported the school for decades. Eric was an outgoing and gregarious person and maintained many close friendships throughout his entire life.
Eric is survived by his mother Sharyn Sporar; his daughter Kathleen Feighl, and sons Eric Steven, Jr. and Joseph Feighl; and the children’s mother, Carrie Feighl; sisters Cathie King and husband Jeff, Carolyn Garofalo and husband Mike, Cynthia Pappas and husband Gregory, and brother Michael Feighl; nieces Caroline Maddox and husband Alex, Isabella, Alessandra and Gabriella Garofalo, Alexandra and Mari Pappas, Julia and Marisol Feighl; nephews Johnny King and wife Megan, Michael king and wife Olivia, Andrew and Philip Pappas; great- nephews Preston and Carter King and William Maddox, and great-niece Kelly King. He is also survived by numerous close friends who have supported him over many years. Eric’s family would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the doctors and nurses of Memorial Hermann Medical Center for their excellent and compassionate care of Eric.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., with a recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30 p.m., on Monday evening, June 16, 2025 at St. Anne Catholic Community, 2140 Westheimer Road in Houston, Texas.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2025 also at St. Anne’s. A reception will be held in the St. Basil Hall immediately following the Mass.
The Rite of Committal will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Glenwood cemetery in Houston, Texas.
