I remember him as LtCol Pappas, who was my supervisor when I was stationed at HQ ATC/LGXA (Logistics Analysis) at Randolph AFB, Texas around appx 1980. I was there from 1976 to 1984. I recall sitting next to him at a banquet, listening to him explain to a lady across from us that deer hunting was actually good for the environment and good for the deer population, too. She claimed it was cruel. But he brought out his points so clearly and convincingly, that she finally had to agree with him. He was a great boss!
