Happy First Heavenly Birthday.

Darrell was one of my best students in my sophomore English classes at TCHS '61-62, my first year out of Baylor. My destiny was the Houston Chronicle, and years later Darrell walked into my office. When I asked his college, he said, frinning, "Baylor, of course!" I'm so proud of him.
Darrell and I met in the 7th grade in Miss Presley's home room, and have been close friends since then. During High school and college, we did summer survey work at my Father's Engineering firm. We have stayed in touch through the years, and I will miss my friend. I wish grace and peace to all his family. May the memories and proud heritage he leaves behind encourage you as he would want.

I tried cases with him and against him and we became great friends. What a great guy…and a wonderful friend! JKL
Known Darrell since law school. No better man anywhere. He as fearless in court and would try any case.
Sincere condolences to the family. I am so very sorry for your loss. May God provide the necessary peace and comfort to your family and friends during this difficult time. Please remember these words of encouragement from the Bible: “Jesus plainly told her: I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life.” —John 11:20-25.
Lost a super great person and equally as great a lawyer. Professionalism at its greatest.Memories of a legend and best of the best lawyer.
. May God bless him and his family. Rest in peace.

I am very sorry to hear of Darrell's passing. He was a man's man and a trial lawyer's trial lawyer. Jessica and family, please accept my sincerest condolences in your time of grief.
