I went to highschool with Benay. I regret I didn't get to know her very well. I remember her as an outgoing and supportive person...the kind of person you feel good being around and can't help but like...the kind of person this world needs more of.
I was friends with Benay during college at SWTSU. She always had kind words and a charming smile. She was friends with everyone and wouldn’t hesitate to pull you out of your chair and make you dance!
I met Benay when we were young girls on our school bus. She was sitting behind me talking and giggling! I knew, at that moment, I wanted to be her friend! This was such an honor. We struck up a conversation and I instantly knew she was the most magnetic, beautiful and fun friend I would ever have in my life. Even though she moved before high school, we wrote letters (before the internet) and kept in touch and eventually through social media and talking. I am so grateful to have known such an amazing, friendly, energetic and kind soul. Everyone instantly loved her and I feel her presence. Benay, I know you are continuing your journey and with us. You are missed and you and your beautiful family will always be in my thoughts and prayers.
