Adam Butler Transou's Obituary
Adam Butler Transou was a loving husband, father, uncle, brother, and friend who passed away peacefully Friday evening, June 19, 2026. Adam was born on Mother’s Day, May 9, 1971, to Thomas and Renee Transou in Houston, Texas.
Adam was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Bowie Transou and Renee Shenk Transou. He is survived by his wife Alison Burgess Transou, daughter Catherine Ella (Cate) and son Timothy Bowie (Tim); sister Stephanie Transou Hudgins and husband Jay, brothers John (Bo) and his wife Lisa, Thomas (Tad) and his wife Lisa and Charles (Chip) and his wife Alysia, along with many nieces, nephews, their families and many countless close friends.
Adam graduated from Memorial Senior High School in Houston in 1989 before attending the University of Texas at Austin, where he was a proud member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity, Tau Chapter. During his school and college years, he formed lifelong friendships that he treasured. He remained a devoted Texas Longhorn fan throughout his life.
In 1997, Adam joined his brother Tad in leading Custom Duct, Inc., continuing the family business their father had built. He took great pride in his work and in carrying on his family’s legacy.
Adam met his wife Alison through mutual friends in 1999, and they married in August 2001. Together they built a life centered on Family, Honor, and Pride. Their daughter Cate was born in April 2006, and their son Tim followed in October 2009. Adam treasured the time they spent together at the family farm and making fun memories during summer vacations along the Texas and Florida beaches.
More than anything, Adam will be remembered for his one in a million sense of humor, love for his family, loyalty to his friends, and the quiet strength and generosity that touched the lives of so many. His legacy will live on in the family he loved deeply and the friends who knew him.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 11:00 am at Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church, 11612 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77024.
